My whole life, I've eaten 3 oranges a day.

One tree is always blooming.

My Grandmothers Red Roses

                                           

I spent the day at my mom's house making flower arrangements from the red rose bush my dad planted. This rose bush belonged to my grandmother and its 60+ years old. Every year, it gives us a super bloom and is so fragrant.  Although I never met my grandmother, she passed away long before I was born, my mother tells me such heartwarming stories about her.  I will try to find a photo of her and post it. Today, these beautiful flowers belong to her as a gift to us.

Local Sourdough, avocado from the neighbor's tree, and carrots from the grocery store.

Now, if the chickens would stop squawking my morning would be peaceful.

Trade Agreement, Eggs for Jam

 

Today, I gathered 4 chicken eggs and 1 duck egg. 

I am grateful to my chickens and duck for continuing to lay.  I had 30 chickens at one point, but now I only have 10. Out of those 10, only 5 hens are still producing. My oldest hen is now 9 years old, and she has retired from laying, but she still keeps the flock in order. 

It's kind of like a math problem, isn't it?

I have a trade agreement with my neighbor in which I swap 12 assorted eggs for 1 jar of her homemade strawberry jam.  

Note: Yard chickens are good for your mental health. That's what all chicken ladies tell themselves.

My ice cream flavors are now strawberry and orange sherbert.   My whole life it has been rocky road and chocolate chip.  Life is changing.

 Met a new client today. 

 Introduced myself and shook her hand.  

She said, Wow you're hot!  

I blushed....

She said, do you need some cold water?  Are you feeling okay?  

Ego damaged
